Kodaiwan is a wooden bowl with modern matte finishing that highlights the beautiful pattern of the wood grains. This bowl with a high base can be used for various facets - from breakfast and snacks to soup and salad.
Hand-carved using a lathe, it is made of one block of wood and finished with urushi lacquer.
Available in two colors: brown and black and comes in a beautifully crafted wooden box.
About the artisan:
The Kodaiwan is made by Kazuya Fujimoto, the former apprentice of Hiromichi Nakade. After working for Japan’s Self-Defense Force, he decided to pursue a career in woodcraft - something in which he had always had an interest. Continuing the tradition of this craft, he is due to move into his own space and work entirely independently starting April 2023.
